About Phocus4D
From vision to visuals — digital to physical.
Welcome to Phocus4D — my digital workshop. For more than thirty years, my work has essentially been about the same thing: helping turn ideas into something real. From photorealistic visualisations for sales and investor presentations to animations for product launches — and on to production-ready CAD, prototypes and physical products when an idea needs to leave the screen.Phocus4D is a one-person studio, supported by a trusted network of professional photographers, videographers, designers and production partners.
From Pixels to Products
I trained as a lithographer in the early 1990s. Long before that, I had been programming and creating graphics on a Commodore 64 and later an Amiga 1200.When Macintosh computers arrived in the printing industry, my experience with computers gave me a head start. Scanning, Photoshop 1.0 and digital image processing soon became part of my daily work. I began exploring 3D software to create visualisations that Photoshop alone couldn't achieve. In 1996, I founded Pground Media, producing multimedia and interactive CD-ROM presentations for some of Denmark's largest companies. As the internet developed, my work expanded into digital graphics, animation and database-driven solutions.By the late 1990s, my focus had shifted towards 3D visualisation for architectural projects, property development and entrepreneurs seeking investment.
From Visualisation to Product DevelopmentWhen the construction market slowed in 2008, I had more time to help entrepreneurs develop their product ideas through design, 3D visualisation and prototyping. This gradually inspired me to develop my own designs and bring them into production.A wall-mounted desk for the iMac became my first product. Later, a lockable iPad holder in anodised aluminium attracted investors and led to the creation of Box IT Design, with an expanding range of desktop stands, floor stands and mounting solutions. My work subsequently expanded into technical visualisation and animation for IoT solutions, charging infrastructure and battery systems.
Why Phocus4D?Photography. Focus. Dimensions. Development over Time.
The name reflects how I work:
Photography and image manipulation, my ability to focus deeply on an idea, and the three dimensions of space — X, Y and Z.The fourth dimension is time. In animation, time brings images to life. But in product development, time is what you invest in an idea.
"Ideas only become reality when you put in the time and do the work."
Today — Digital Meets Physical
AI has become another tool in my creative process. It can generate impressive images in seconds, but turning an idea into a real product still requires technical knowledge, precise dimensions, material selection and an understanding of manufacturing. That combination of creative visualisation, technical development and practical production experience is what Phocus4D brings to a project. From the first sketch to the finished product.
